Some couples arrive at their wedding day. Mikaela and Jon built theirs, down to the last decision, and never once handed it off. What unfolded felt less like an event than an exhale.
Mikaela & Jon's Vintage-Inspired Romance
< BACK TO PORTFOLIO
Mikaela knew what she wanted before she knew who would photograph it. She came to our first conversation with a vision board already built, and she never once wavered from it. Old Hollywood, fashion-led, romantic without apology.
You could see it in how the day was dressed. Her gown was off-shoulder satin, cut high at the leg. Her bridesmaids broke the white on purpose, black bodices running into beige satin, so the group moved through the day as one thing rather than eight.
They said their vows outside at Club de Golf Metropolitan, then took everyone into Old Montreal, parasols up against the grey stone. Waiting there was a car Jon's father spent years restoring with his own hands. He had built it long before there was a wedding to bring it to, and there it was, in the middle of his son's photographs.
By the time they reached Plaza Vogue the light had gone and the candles were lit. The toasts landed. Nobody left the floor.
We now work alongside Mikaela, who now captures weddings through her own brand, The Bridal Diary.
"They brought my mood board to life, capturing every moment exactly as I had dreamed."
